How long have you been a DJ and how many weddings have you done?

Matt has been performing at many kinds of events, including weddings over the past 20+ years, and has done hundreds of weddings.  As he says, he has “seen it all”.  Your wedding is such an important occasion in your life, so you will want a well experienced, talented DJ who is outgoing and friendly.  He knows how to satisfy crowds that include a wide range of ages and musical tastes, so your very young guests, your cherished seniors and everyone in between will enjoy your party!

What makes your DJ company affordable?

Twilight DJ Service has been in business for over 20+ years and has always maintained our policy to offer the best possible DJ service for the most affordable rate.  Our flat fee pricing, along with our many free extras will give you exceptional value for your money.   

What is included in the cost of my event? 

Travel, set-up, performance time, equipment teardown, applicable taxes, sound and lighting equipment, microphone, games and props, and a talented professional DJ are all included in the cost.  Our flat-rate pricing is refreshingly easy to understand - there are no hidden fees or surprises, and all fees are clearly stated in our Booking Agreement.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, all of our events require a $200.00 deposit to secure your date.  The outstanding balance is due before the start of the event. 

Will you meet with us in person before we sign a contract?

Yes, we offer every client the opportunity to meet with Matt in person at a mutually convenient time and place.  It is important to be able to build a rapport with him to ensure that everyone is comfortable with their DJ service choice.  It is also important to be able to evaluate for yourself if the person who will be providing your entertainment on your special day is a good match for you, without the front of technology (phones, e-mail and websites).  Our customers are important to us, so we want to make sure everyone feels happy.

How many consultations do you provide in your price?

One consultation is usually all that is required, but if you feel that you require more, we will be happy to accommodate you until you are satisfied.

Do you come to my home or business to go over the entertainment?

Yes, we will arrange a mutually convenient time and place to meet.

How far in advance do you book events?

The sooner, the better!  We will secure the date you want with a $200 deposit as far in advance as you like.  Many couples book their wedding DJ a year or more in advance.  If your event is coming up soon, please contact us directly for our most recent availability as we sometimes have open dates due to postponements and cancellations.  

What is your Cancellation Policy?

A deposit of $200 is required within 30 days following initial agreement with Twilight DJ Service to reserve your date and confirm the event booking.  If the event is cancelled by the client for any reason, Twilight DJ Service will retain the deposit fee.  Notice of cancellation of a confirmed booking must be provided at least 60 days in advance of the event date.  If notification is not received within 60 days of the event date, the client will be liable to pay the full fee on or before the event date.

Can we visit you at a performance?

Out of respect for the privacy of others, we cannot permit prospective clients to "drop in" on a wedding.  However, our references would be happy to speak with you, and you can read our online testimonials as well as comments on our Facebook page.  Furthermore, the information we provide you in our initial meeting will speak volumes of our experience, style, and professionalism.

What types of music do you play?

We carry a wide variety of music ranging from the Big Band Era to today’s biggest hits.  We keep our music selections up-to-date so everyone from the young to the “young at heart” will have a great time.  With thousands of music selections, we’re sure we can find the right songs to keep your guests entertained. 

How do you keep your music collection up-to-date?

The majority of professional DJs subscribe to at least one of the major music update services in order to keep their collections up-to-date. These services provide the DJ with new, radio edited music, sometimes before it is even playing on the radio. We subscribe to these services to ensure that we always have the latest hits and new music.

Do you take requests from our guests?

Yes, we are happy to play the tunes that your guests request.  Based on previous discussions with you, you can feel assured that any request they choose would only be played if the DJ feels it would meet with your approval.   

I want the music at my wedding ceremony to be non-traditional - can you do that?

Yes we can!  We are here to help you customize your event and make it your own.  Throughout the ceremony and the reception, we will play what you request to create the kind of wedding day you have always envisioned.

Do you provide a microphone for announcements?

Yes, we provide a quality wireless microphone and stand and full audio monitoring for announcements and speeches.

Will you travel to play events?

Yes, we will cater to your needs.  If your event is outside Simcoe County, we will add a minimal charge for fuel. 

When do you arrive to set up for an event? 

Our DJ always arrives on-site several hours prior to the contracted event start time, and earlier as necessitated by the set-up requirements of the site.

What time do you finish?

Most venues end their parties at 1:00 a.m. so this is our normal finish time.  If you are holding a private party that you plan to end later, extra performance time can be negotiated.

What do you require from my event site?

We require adequate power (120-volt, 15-amp circuit on a grounded outlet) within 3 meters (10 feet) of where the DJ will be set up, and possibly linens for our table, depending on your reception colours.

What will you wear?

This is something that is often overlooked, but can make a big difference.  Professional DJs maintain acceptable appearance standards regardless of the situation.  We will wear casual to formal dress, depending on the type of event and the client’s needs.

Do you require dinner at our wedding reception or party?

We do not expect or require dinner, but are sometimes offered this and it is gratefully appreciated, especially if asked to provide music during dinner.
